The solution in the tanks is automatically kept at a constant temperature and is inherently sterile due to the high concentration of dissolved Epsom salts (Magnesium Sulphate).
After each float session the powerful filtration system is automatically activated, eliminating any debris and keeping the tank clean at all times.
The solution passes 3 3/4 times through our 1 micron filter (100 times smaller than a human hair) and past our powerful 55w UV sterilization chamber.
Disinfectant is also automatically dosed after each and every use of the pod.
A common concern. Being in the tank is more like floating in outer space than being shut in a box. You are in complete control of your environment and can leave the door open for as long as you like. Even people with extreme claustrophobia have reported having no problems during their time in the tank. – again; you’re in control.
Yes, some people fall asleep in the tank. Due to the buoyancy of the water, you stay afloat. The worst that can happen is getting a bit of salt water in your eyes.
Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulphate) Can be absorbed through your skin as you float, it helps your muscles relax and provides the required buoyancy to make you float.
If you wear contact lenses, you’re advised to bring your lense-box. Other than that, we provide everything you need (towels, robes, earplugs, body wash/shampoo, hairdryer, etc. and we even have a selection of herbal tea’s afterwards in our post-float area.
Don’t drink coffee two hours before your session (you will find it harder to settle in the tank). Also, you should not shave on the day of your float; the salt water can irritate your skin. We do provide Vaseline in your room to cover small scratches and grazes.
Yes. Just follow the same steps you would for swimming.
Sure! Floating is a unique experience and is wonderful to share with a friend. However, it is not possible to share the same tank; you will need to book another.
We recommend that you don’t wear anything to have the best experience. However we completely understand this can be daunting the first time, so you can wear a costume if you like. Each of our rooms is private and has it’s own shower and changing facilities for your exclusive use during your session.
Floating is not suitable for children under the age of 16 (children under the age of 16 are not permitted to float due to health and safety requirements).
There are no known side effects to floating. Even the magnesium-based Epsom Salts we use are good and help relax your muscles.
The more regularly you float, the better. Just like any activity, the more you practice, the better you become, and the more cumulative effects you will see.
When suffering psoriasis lightly only, you are allowed to float. With more severe skin complaints or when in doubt, please contact your doctor or us before making your reservation. It is always healthy for your skin. However, the salty water may sting (in case of open wounds etc.).
